2019/02/23 Kogeinu Birthday Party

tennokoeKogeinu had a birthday party at That and Yuma's place, Binky Frog! It's a very stylish place to drink and eat, and That makes all the food. I was about an hour late because I had work things to do, but it wasn't too bad because it was a 6-hour event! It was a really small event with limited tickets; about 30.
I walk in and the first person I saw was yuma, which I should have expected but was still surprised by lol. He directed me to a really young-looking guy in a mask who I assume was ranka? And he checked me in. I saw a giant tenga tower in the corner and was quite amused. I got my drink and they found koge pretty far in the back talking to a group of people! He was wearing this eevee hood thing and was super cute…. It looked like he was going through the crowd to personally greet each person, and people were handing them their presents as they met him. Someone handed him a MASSIVE teddy bear omg. That was in the kitchen area cooking for most of the day. There were two males there, which surprised me! As koge got closer to me, I heard him talking to another girl who was also from overseas! Right when he was finished talking to her and moved to the next group, I went up to her to ask her where she was from and introduced myself haha. We ended up talking a lot, but since I moved koge missed me and I missed the timing to hand over my present…..
We played bingo, and the winners got to ask him to do anything they wanted. There were three winners, but they were so frazzled they couldn’t really think of any request on the spot LOL. He moved on to do some singing, and That came to play the guitar for him. Koge was talking to him for a bit, and then That told him to cut it out with that (polite?) way of speaking already. He took requests from the audience but everyone was super shy omg but there were some excellent requests…. he sang fire flower and karakuri pierrot, and then I think that returned to cook? And told him to use the karaoke set. He sang dramaturgy, then someone requested Just be Friends piano version! He looked at it and was like, I’m gonna have to sing this properly, huh…… It was really pretty! He also sang rain stops goodbye, renai yuusha, and yoake hotaru aahhhhhh I love his cover a lot so I was really happy! Someone said they wanted to hear lost one’s weeping or sekai seifuku and everyone went made understanding agreement noises. He looked at them like “why” and asked for something else LMAO. but for the very last song he decided to sing it anyways, to the excitement of everyone in the room!
He was sweating by the end, so he went to go to the washroom and as he passed by one of the male attendees, he plopped the eevee hat on him. The guy started taking selfies and I saw that koge retweeted him later on. When he returned, he started talking to everyone again from around the middle of the store, and asked where people were from. I piped up with “Canada!” and he didn’t seem hear me, but others around me did and they directed his attention to me…… He was so surprised and asked me what Canada was like but I had no idea what to say besides “it’s…… cold…..” Apparently there was someone else from Canada attending as well?! I didn’t see who it was though…..
That turned off the lights and brought out a very cute cake for koge! We sang happy birthday and he blew out the candles. He seemed to be getting a little drunk and was very energetic! Ranka handed us chocolates and said they were valentines day gifts from koge, which was cute…. Koge then said that it was kind of embarrassing for him to say, but he’d sign anything we had, so please line up if we’d like! I wasn’t expecting this, so I didn’t bring any of his merch or CDs, but I had my notebook which had asamaru’s signature in it so I decided to use that! He asked for my name and I had to give him... my dumb alias...... I finally handed over my present and he talked to me about Canada for a bit, then thanked me for attending.
Soon, it was time for us to leave. Koge stood outside the door and shook everyone’s hands. I found out later on that the tenga tower was actually the special chocolates they released for valentines day, and was being given out to all the attendees! I left too early so sadly I didn’t get one, but I thought it was so funny.
It was a fun event! I rarely get to see koge so I’m really happy I got to go!
